People tell me to be ashamed of my scars. To never ever be proud that I have won my battles and will continue to fight the ones that are still raging. They tell me to stop my ‘poetry’ and ‘get real’ because self harm and suicide are serious topics. I am real. And I do take them seriously. My MANY hospitalizations and attempts at my own life are proof enough that I understand how serious these two things are. I write about these things because it is how I have dealt with them. Its how I have shown other people that they WILL make it out of this alive. I write because no one else does. 

In short, I will NEVER be ashamed of my scars, they are proof that I am stronger than that. I will NEVER stop writing because I have impacted people that I never thought I could reach. I will NEVER stop fighting because I know I can make it.

If you think that my writing and showing that I am still alive is shameful or a jest, and insist that its a disease that no one can make it out of alive, then I suggest you seek help, because it is not just me who needs it.
